  • Snowmobiles: If you've ever been snowmobiling, you know it's a great way to find fun far from the beaten path. If you haven't, well, it's time you tried. Mammoth Snowmobile Adventures is the perfect outfitter for first-timers or seasoned experts. Experienced guides and top-of-the-line equipment grant you access to California's greatest playground including: thousands of acres of trails, pristine backcountry, spacious meadows, historic landmarks and lush pine forests.
  • Scenic Gondola: The summit of Mammoth at 11,053 feet is perhaps the most stunning view you'll find in California. But don't be fooled by the remote elevation - once you reach the top you'll discover there's plenty to do. From the Sierra Interpretive Center to the Top Of The Sierra Caf‚, you'll be amazed at what you find above 11,000 feet.
  • Dog sled rides from Main Lodge: Not all sleigh rides require a hill and not all vehicles require horsepower. Case in point, dog sled rides that begin at Main Lodge, where your tasks are limited to getting comfy on the traditional sled, covering-up with a thick blanket that are provided, screaming "Mush" and enjoy the ride as the malamutes and huskies do their thing.
  • Snow Tubing: Whether you're looking for the downhill rush without having to strap on skis or just want to slip and slide your way down the hill while sitting down, checkout tubing. Located on Minaret Road on the way up to the Main Lodge, it's only $20 an hour for tube rental and full rope-tow access. But be sure to bring some greenbacks, Sledz is cash only. 760-934-7533
  • Outdoor ice skating on a rink in town: The Mammoth Ice Rink offers public skating sessions, family skate night, lessons, birthday parties and skate rentals. Whether you want to hit the ice solo, with your friends or family, Mammoth Ice Rink is an ideal way to get outside this winter and have fun. Skating is available to the public from mid-December to Mid to Late March. (Weather permitting).   • Free guided tours on Mammoth Mountain: One of the best ways to get the inside skinny on Mammoth and its natural surroundings is to strap on your board or click into your skis and take a tour with one of our naturalists. For 90 minutes they'll give you inside line on the area, its volcanic background, and maybe even a little bit about the old mines that gave the resort its name. The tours are available from Friday - Sunday, begin at 10:30am and 1:30pm, and meet at the bottom Stump Alley Express.
