Yes- it's steep, deep, gnarly and challenging - everything you have always heard about Jackson is true. It is steep, deep, gnarly and challenging, etc. But that's not 100% of the story.
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has been working hard to upgrade the experience for Intermediate and Beginner skiers as well as families and the word is out that they are succeeding.
The main attraction, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is located in Teton Village 12 miles from the town of Jackson, Wyoming which is located in the Northwest corner of Wyoming.
The town of Jackson offers many lodging options as well as restaurants, shops and art galleries. The local Town ski hill, called Snow King rises right out of the eastern edge of town.
Teton Village also offers several hotel lodging options as well as numerous condominium and private home rentals. There are some restaurants and shopping options in Teton Village but the majority of choices are in town. Regular scheduled bus service operates daily during the ski season between town and Teton Village and runs $3.00 per person each way. Many lodges in town operate their own shuttle service as well.
The Jackson Hole Mountain Resorts encompasses 2 mountains, AprŠs Vous and Rendezvous and offers over 2,500 acres of inbound skiing and over 2,000 acres of out of bounds skiing.
12 lifts are available and the mountain offers a Hugh amount ofvaried terrain. Long groomed trails combine with steep chutes and couloirs as well as open bowls and Glades.
With 4,139 continuous vertical feet of skiing, Jackson Hole is BIG, LONG and WIDE.
Visitors come to Jackson Hole not only for the world class skiing, but also for the many Winter Experiences that are offered which include cross country skiing, snowmobile adventures both in the surrounding mountains as well as Yellowstone National Park, Dog sledding tours and wild life viewing expeditions. If you do not wish to ski or ride every day, there are many options to keep you busy in the Tetons.
Another great Wyoming ski area is just over the hill, call Grand Targhee which will delight Intermediate skiers with abundant snow falls (located on the west side of the Tetons (non existent crowds and spectacular views of the Tetons.

Jackson Hole airport is served by several airlines offering Jet service from various US cities. Grand Teton National Park forms part of the Northern boundary for the Teton valley and the southern entrance to Yellowstone National Park is 60 miles from downtown.
